Cook will be coming to Henryetta after a year at Bartlesville. Prior to that he was head coach at Pawnee for eight plus years. When he took the Pawnee job, the team had only won three games in two seasons.
He turned that around with Pawnee going to the Class A state semifinals in 2019 and posting a 13-1 record. The following year, Pawnee won a second consecutive district title and ended the year in the state quarterfinals with a 9-2 record.
Before Pawnee, he served for two years as defensive line and wide receivers coach at Cushing high school. He has also coached at Hartshorne and Prague.
“We are pleased to have coach Cook join our athletic program and look forward to the start of the football season,” said superintendent Dwayne Noble.
Cook and his wife are the parents of three children. His oldest daughter graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in nursing. He has a son and daughter who will be attending school here.
