The game between the Henryetta 7th and 8th grade Knights and Checotah Monday night was a contest of twos. At least until the fifth inning.
After knotting up the score three times, the Henryetta defense stopped Chechotah in the fifth to take an 8-7 victory.
Checotah got two runs on the board in the first inning but Henryetta tied it up. Again, the young Wildcats put two scores up in the second and again Henryetta was not going to let that stand with a pair of runs of their own.
In the third inning, the young Knights held Checotah scoreless while driving in two more RBIs. The fourth inning had Checotah tie up the contest but Henryetta posted what would be their final two runs of the night for an 8-6 lead.
Checotah would get one run in the fifth but no more.
Henryetta would score the eight runs on three hits. G. Williams was responsible for three RBIs during the night.
H. Bowdler and G. Williams threw for two of the five innings while M. Randleman pitched one. All together, Henryetta allowed nine hits while striking out seven Checotah batters.
