When the final bell rings next month, a 30-year career in education will come to a close for HHS principal Kelly Furer.
The southeastern Oklahoma native came to the Henryetta school system 23 years ago and, for the past four years has been high school principal.
That career was celebrated Wednesday evening with a reception by present and former teachers and fellow administrators.
Furer, her husband, Keith, children Cade and Brooklyn and sister were on hand for the event.
Furer said she has enjoyed the time in education but pointed out the past two years have been challenging.
To mark the occasion, she was presented a farewell plaque by superintendent Dwayne Noble.
Drawing special attention were the gifts of eggs and even live chickens since she said she will be herding fowls instead of students.
