There may have been rain falling outside but the mood inside the new Henryetta QuikTrip was all sunny Thursday morning. After a four-year effort, the new, modern retail store has opened and already has drawn in a number of local and passing motorists. Jake Barron, the land acquisition manager for QT said the battle included numerous contacts with state and even federal officials to get all the permitting accomplished. He pointed out his grandfather had been manager of one of the motels that originally occupied the site at the end of East Main. A number of city and chamber officials were on hand to cut the QT red ribbon making the store opening.
