Nine personnel actions were handled by Henryetta school board members Monday night at their May meeting.
A retirement letter was submitted by Lori Enis, elementary librarian. She has been with the school for over 25 years.
Resignations from Krystle Williams, Rachael Bourn, John Maxey, Lindsey McKinney, Kisha Gobin, Lance Beck and Garrett Flanary were accepted.
The board spent about 20 minutes in executive session before hiring Amber Wetzel as middle school self-contained special education teacher.
Elementary principal Roger Williams told the board state testing is nearly completed. Students who met reading goals will be participating in a waterslide at the school.
He invited board members to come to a retirement party for Mary Kraft and Lori Enis at the elementary school library May 11. Both individuals have over 20 years of service to the school.
Williams said the elementary summer school program will be staring in June. Operating from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, the program will have about 60 youngsters attending. Each will be furnished with snacks before returning home.
During the elementary summer school, a reading specialist will be working with third graders to help them reach their proficiency goals.
Middle school principal Jayme Matlock said the summer school for both middle and high school students will run from June through July also from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday.
She said the high school will be helping students who need to get their credits built up while middle school will be focusing on students who have had issues with attendance during the past year.
Board members declared a 2006 International school bus as surplus making it available for sale.
In other business, the board approved membership, policy renewal and service renewal agreements with the Oklahoma State School Board Association for the coming year.
They also voted for renewal of contracts with OCAS for treasurer and payroll services.
