Jake Eugene Montgomery, 85, a lifelong resident of the Wilson Community, died May 16, 2022 at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1936, to Virda Ann (Baker) and William Edgar Montgomery on the family homestead. He remained on the homestead for the majority of his 85 years.
In addition to farming and raising cattle, Jake also worked in the oil field and trucking industry. He owned and operated Jake’s Gulf, Full-Service Station on East Main Street in Henryetta during the 1970’s. Later in his work life he owned and operated J&M Dump Trucking where he operated a dump truck, dozer and backhoe until he retired in 2015.
Jake is preceded in death by his wife, Delena Ann Montgomery; parents, Virda Ann (Baker) and William Edgar "Bill" Montgomery,; brothers, Hugh Montgomery and Bill Montgomery; sisters, Nila Mae (Montgomery) Muncy and Louise Montgomery/
He is survived by his son Kenneth Montgomery and wife Brenda, Henryetta; daughter, Jana Clark and husband Andy, Tampa, FL; granddaughters: Aimee Yarbrough and husband Kenny, Edmond, Ashley Montgomery, Edmond, Megan Benson and husband Kent, Edmond; great grandchildren: Cooper Jake Yarbrough, Claire Ann Yarbrough, Montgomery Kate Benson and Jett Stephens Benson.
Viewing and Visitation is scheduled for 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday May 19, 2022 at Integrity Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Bruce Henderson, Bill Henderson, Harold Henderson, and Mike Gizzi
Flowers are welcome, as are contributions to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
