For the third weekend this month, there is going to be a reason to come to Henryetta.
IMG 0284The annual Cruise Knight starts at 6 p.m. downtown and several hundred cars are expected to be showcased by their owners.
Cruise Knight chair Christy Jeffcoat said in addition to the cars, motorcycles and trucks, there will be a dozen vendors lining the sidewalks, some food trucks ready to take care of any hunger pangs.
“We have seven Main Street businesses that said they will be open late Saturday. I’m excited about that.”IMG 0316
Bounce houses will provide entertainment for the youngsters furnished by the city.
She said the outside lanes of Main Street will be closed off to allow vehicles to park. “We may have more parked because of the gas prices. Usually there are some who park for awhile then pull out to drag Main.” Jeffcoat urged anyone wishing to park their vehicles to come early.
“There is no registration needed to participate. Just shine up your car and come on down.”
The popular burnout contest will not be held this year. “I am trying to find someone to put it on and who will run it safely.” She added.
