Next Tuesday is Election Day in Okmulgee and the rest of the state.
The Runoff Primary election will include candidates who did not get a majority of votes at the June election.
There are both republican and democrat names on the ballots with each party able to vote for those candidates.
Democrats will be choosing between Madison Horn and Jason Bollinger for United States senator.
On the republican ballot are:
Clark Jolley and Todd russ for state treasurer; April grace and Ryan Walters for state school department; Sean Roberts and Leslie Kathryns Osborn for labor commissioner; Todd Thomsen and Kin David for corporation commissioner; T.W. Shannon and Markwayne Mullin for the unexpired US senator position; and Josh Brecheen and Avery Frix for US district 2 congressional seat.
Anyone wishing to vote early may do so starting Thursday, Aug. 18 at the Okmulgee County election board office.
Okmulgee County Election Board Secretary, Ashley Carnes, said early voting is open to all voters.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Early voting is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Carnes said. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted through the State Election Board—from school board and municipal elections to state, federal, and county elections.
Early voting is available Thursday, August 18, and Friday, August 19, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, August 20, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Election Board located at 314 W. 7th Street, Room 102, Okmulgee. Carnes reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.
The Okmulgee County Election Board is located at 314 W. 7th Street, Room 102, Okmulgee, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
