grass fire

A wildfire charred several hundred acres of pastureland near the K-Bar Ranch just north of Pharoah Thursday afternoon. The blaze threatened a number of outbuildings but volunteers from the Sunrise Fire Department were on hand to battle the fire. This was the second large grass fire in less than a week. A fire believed to have started along the highway last week burned through some 20 acres just west of Henryetta. Fire chief David Bullard remined area residents there is a burn ban still in place for Okmulgee County. No burn ban has been issued in Okfuskee County where Thursday's fire took place.
