Nichols Park will have those plastic discs flying again this weekend.
Over 200 players have signed up to be a part of the Oklahoma State Championship disc golf tournament.
Those contestants are primarily from Oklahoma but also will be representing Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and other states.
This is the second time the state tournament has been held in Henryetta. Along with the participants, there will be around 100 friends, family and just spectators walking through the park.
Jason Schwache is the tournament director and a present of Innova, the company that makes discs used around the world.
The tournament is broken down into men's and women's divisions as well as professional and non-professional and ages.
A returning face will be two time winner Bo Tillman from Edmond. He won his first time here in 2019 with a 14-under score then improved on that the next year with a 15-under par score. He is top ranked in the Men's Professional division.
While there are going to be competitors from all over the region, the Henryetta area will be supplying some contestants.
Samantha Russell, Dewar is one of those signed up in the Amateur Masters Women 40+. Jerry Craig, and Terry Allen and Joshua Craig, all of Henryetta and James Russell, Dewar will be in the Amateur Masters 50+ division.
Recreational contestants competing are Nicholas Noah Henryetta and Matthew Hicks, Dewar. Wade Minyard, Henryetta is going to be in the novice category while Shane Chester, Dewar is in the under 15 junior category.
There is no admission charge for spectators to come to Nichols and watch the tournament.
