Thursday started out on a good note for the HHS Lady Knights with an 8-2 win over Seminole but back to back games with Bristow turned out on a sour note in district play.
The Lady Knights scored in all but two of the Seminole innings starting with Shelby Kilhoffer crossing home on a single by Kassedi Lee and error by seminole.
Seminole would tie the game up on a second inning fly to right but Henryetta would add three runs in the third, another in the fourth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh for the win.
That put Henryetta facing the Lady Pirates from Bristow.
In the opening game, Henryetta managed to get three hits but were unable to score as Bristow took a 9-0 win.
The second game saw Henryetta held scoreless until the fifth inning when Ailanee Hicks and Lee each hit the long ball for five runs. Hicks went to left field on one out that scored three runs then Lee parked it to center for two more. That tied the game at 5-5 but Bristow would come back in the bottom of the fifth scoring three more runs for an 8-5 advantage.
The final run for Bristow came in the sixth with bases loaded, two outs and Hicks allowed a walk.
It looked like Henryetta could come back in the top of the seventh. Winter Beaver walked then Lee singled. That was followed by Kelley Miller singling to load the bases. Chloe Sweringin nailed a grounder and got on by an error scoring Beaver keeping the bases loaded. Hailey Lewis singled scoring Lee putting Henryetta within two runs of a tie.
AA strike out, out on a foul tip and fly out to center ended the changes for the Lady Knights.
Henryetta would post the two home runs by Lee and Hicks as well as hits by Hicks, Beaver Lee, Miller, Sweringen and Burden during the game.
