Over 100 men and women were competing in the latest disc golf tournament at Nichols Park Saturday.
They made up the field of mixed professionals as well as amateurs in the Henryetta Shootout.
Sponsored by Innova Disc Golf Equipment, it is the latest event to be held on the course that has included several state championship tournaments.
“Everyone likes coming to Henryetta. The course is challenging and they have a good time,” said Jason Schawke, field representative for Innova.
Tulsa Scott Adams was the winner of the mixed pro open division. He went 11-under par for a two-round total of 105. He has been playing the game for over 10 years and has won 34 events in his professional career.
Another Tulsa resident, Angie Taylor, was the winner of the women’s amateur division.
Contestants came from as far away as Connecticut, Texas and Kansas to participate. They joined others from all over Oklahoma as well as a number of Henryetta, Dewar and Okmulgee golfers.
A number of specially printed discs bearing the logo for the Henryetta Shootout at Nichols were sold to some of the participants.
