Mary Patricia (Pat) McManus Kerns died peacefully at her home on May 16, 2023 surrounded by her family. Pat was born March 14, 1930 in Henryetta to Pete and Mayme McManus. She was the last of seven children and as the youngest daughter, became the apple of her parents’ eyes. Pat graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1947 and immediately began her first job working at the PPG Glass Plant in Henryetta. Pat was united in marriage to Thomas D. Kerns (T.D.) on August 18, 1951 at St. Michaels Church in Henryetta. During their 50-year marriage T.D.’s jobs took them to several states to live where Pat helped raise their two daughters and work at jobs that she loved. Her last job was at Deep Fork Community Action in Okmulgee.
Pat loved to travel. She and T.D. had many adventures with friends in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Greece, Turkey, Mexico and Hawaii. They were also proud followers of their grandsons motocross careers and enjoyed driving their motorhome to many races to support them. After retirement Pat continued to enjoy traveling with family and friends and was often seen loading up the car with food for trips to Branson with her great-grandsons and granddaughter. She also enjoyed doing her own yardwork up into her 80’s and to take many walks with her little dog.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mayme McManus, siblings Peter John, Jack, James, Paul, William, a baby sister, and her husband Thomas D Kerns. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Murray (Jim), Lori Humphrey (Mark), grandchildren Jimmie Black, Shellie Rea(Mike), Levi Humphrey, Colt Humphrey, great-grandchildren James Black(Samantha), Thomas Black(Payton), Amelia Rea, Owen Rea, great-great-grandchildren Alaina Black, Carston Black, Scarlett Black, Oakley Black, nieces and nephews.

The family would like the thank Encompass Home Health, Choice Hospice, Alma Garcia, and Father Robert Duck of St. Michaels Church for the wonderful and compassionate care that they provided to Pat during her journey.
