As June draws closer, plans are being finalized for the annual Roy Madden Spring Roundup Rodeo.
Set June 2 and 3, the rodeo at Nichols Park will be featuring a lot of area talent as well as the ever-popular mutton busting event for the children.
It is sponsored by the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce and this year is making it easier for everyone to attend with tickets now being sold through an on-line portal.
“We are so happy to make this available” said rodeo committee chair Tammie Hiatt. “People can go to www.rodeoticket.com and select our rodeo. They are directed to a web page that allows them to buy tickets for either one or both of the two nights and pay on-line. The tickets will show up on their smartphone and they can show that at the gate when they drive up.”
Another convenience added will be the ability to use bank cards to pay at the concession stand, she pointed out.
The June rodeo was named in honor of long-time chamber executive director Roy Madden who died in 2021. In addition to working to expand the spring and Living Legends rodeos, Madden was an inductee into the Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.
