The Christmas season officially came to Henryetta high school Wednesday with the "Hanging of the Green" ceremony.
For the past two decades, the school has had representatives from the classes and organizaitons place green wreaths and lighted candles on the Alice Ghostley auditorium stage to commenorate the centturies-old Christmas tradition.
Kinzie Gillin welcomed everyone to the celebration and reminded students and parents how the tradition started. That was followed by the HHS choir and band playing several holiday selections.
As part of the Henryetta ceremony, a poem written by Matthew Valle, a former HHS student, was read by Gracie Lollis.
