out at homeFor part of the first inning, it appeared as though the Lady Knights were going to jump out to an early lead against Mounds Saturday. They just couldn't get the runners home and had to settle for a 5-1 loss.
Henryetta had five get on with singles. Kendall Perez got a shot to center followed by Shelby Bullard went to first with a short bunt. Charee Graham got her single with a short bunt filling the bases. HHS pitcher Sydney King went to first but her bunt landed in front of the pitcher who was able to toss it back to home for the first out.
Rachel Montgomery also hit back to the pitcher and Bullard was thrown out at home. With bases loaded, Makenzie Roberts hit a fly out to second that ended any scoring hopes.
Henryetta kept Mounds away from home until the fourth inning when the Lady Golden Eagles picked up a pair of runs. They added three more in the fifth on a series of singles.
The lone HHS run came in the sixth when Skyla Notley getting a double then going home on a double by Caprice Graham.
The Lady Knights enjoyed a 3-0 lead for the opening two frames of the Festival match against Wilburton Saturday but that went by the wayside in the third.
Henryetta opened with runs by Kendall Perez, Shelby Bullard and Charee Graham on RBI hits by Skyla Notley and Caprice Graham.
Those were the only runs for Henryetta while Wilburton, put seven runs in the third, two in the fourth and five in the fifth for the 14-3 win.
