Dixie Ann Bolen, a native of Hanna, died May 11, 2024 in Hanna. She was born Oct. 11, 1946 to Leonard and Lucy Sims of Hanna. The youngest of three girls, she grew up and graduated high school in Hanna.
She earned her first degree from Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts with a Bachelors in Education.
While at Oklahoma Christian University, she met her first husband Stephen Maier Parks and had three children.
In 1980, Dixie divorced Stephen. While raising three children on her own she earned her second degree from East Central University in Ada, a Masters in Education. Later in 1985, she met and married her second husband Jerry Bolen. Together they moved to Earlsboro. She spent 32 years teaching at North Rock Creek school in Shawnee.
She is survived by her spouse Jerry Bolen; three children and their spouses: Christopher Parks, Brian and Carol Parks with grandchildren, Emmie and Asher, her daughter Sarah and Koon Srisathit with their children Attitan and Mali.
No visitation per family request.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Hanna Cemetery (At a later date due to weather conditions). Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
