Janice Faye Bear December 25, 1951 - May 1, 2025

Janice Faye Bear a resident of Okmulgee passed this life on May 1, 2025 in Okmulgee at the age of 73. Born December 25, 1951 in Dumas, TX to George Carmen and Lucille (Berryhill) Bear. Janice worked for Creek Nation in the hospital’s ER and Creek Nation Housing Authority.
Preceding her in death are her children; Richard Scott and Kenneth Bear. Her maternal grandparents, John and Amy (Randall) Berryhill and paternal grandparents, Ben and Nettie (Herrod) Bear, all original enrollees of the Muscogee Nation. Also preceding are her mother and father, brothers John Buckner, Jr., Jay Buckner, Paul Bear, and Timothy Bear. Sisters preceding her in death are her twin sister Janet Bear, Georgette Bear, Rachel Ramirez, and Marcella Jones.
Survivors are sisters Esther Bell, Shawnee, OK, OK, Georgeann DeLaune, Okmulgee, OK, and Debbie Bear, Checotah, OK.
Surviving brothers are Michael Bear, Henryetta, OK, and Anthony Bear, Butler, MO.

Visitation will be Friday, May 9, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Rogers Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 10th at the Bear Family Cemetery at the Forest Creek Mission in the Wilson Community under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
