Douglas Freeman July 14, 1942 – March 28, 2026

Douglas (Doug) McArthur Freeman passed this life on March 28th, 2026 at the age of 83 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Born July 14, 1942 in Red Hill, OK to William and Maudie (Henderson) Freeman. Doug attended Wilson School where he excelled in basketball. All through life he worked as a pipe liner and was a member of the IUOE Local 2B. After retiring from the he became a truck driver . He loved to travel and the open roads. He loved to go to the river and take his grands along with him to the watermelon patch. His favorite past time was taking his kids to the country and pick pokesaled. Doug was a young kid at heart up until his passing. He memorized the Bible from front to back and could quote a scripture at the drop of a hat. He loved to tell people about JESUS. He could sing and prayed for his kids daily. He loved to go to church. Almost everyone who knew him knew he loved his DOMINO’S. He would teach anyone he met to play so he always had someone to play with. The love of the game was installed in him at a young age playing with his brothers. Doug was the baby of the family and his sisters would let you know. He will be missed by those who survive him.

He is survived by his children: Teresa Shurden of Dewar; Kimberly Wilbourn and husband Dwight of Henryetta; Jerry Freeman and wife Christy of White Bluff, TN; Steven Freeman and wife Shonda of Dewar; Derek Freeman and wife Jerri Lynn of Marlow, OK; Sara Stewart and husband Jimmy of Claremore, OK.
Siblings: Lois Faye Watson of Las Vagas, NV; Billy Freeman and wife Tammy of Candenton, MO; Gary (Smokey) Freeman and wife Sheri of Henryetta; Linda Niklas of Henryetta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiliam and Maudie Freeman. Siblings Hartsel Freeman, Paul Gene Freeman, Calvin Freeman, Junior Freeman, Orville Freeman, James Freeman, Mary Ellis, Louise Orr, Judy Powell and Margaret Vierson.

The Freeman family would like to thank Fountain View Manor and Complete Hospice for the excellent care of our Dad.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Salem Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kirt Wilbourn, Jimmy Stewart, Dwight Wilbourn, Kanon Horseford, Jack Lloyd, L.J.Loyd and Baryden Wilbourn.
