Several months of hard work and lots of community effort came together Saturday. Over 100 volunteers made sure around 800 area families will have food on the table this holiday season. The food distribution through Feed the Children and the Nazarene church youth went off without a hitch despite the brisk temperatures Saturday morning. |

That cold snap forced organizers to move the distribution from the football field to the Nazarene church gymnasium. Youth members went 30 hours fasting and living in cardboard boxes earlier this year as they raised enough money to feed 800 families for a week. That was twice the amount raised a year ago. Nine churches provided volunteers to help with the distribution Saturday making this a community event. |
