Henryetta voters will be going to the polls in April to choose two new members to the city council.
In an effort to let voters know about each candidate, Thehenryettan.com has invited each of them to have a story published on the website. Certified letters containing identical forms were mailed out a week ago asking the candidates to fill out a form and return it for inclusion.
Ward two candidate Christy Jeffcoat was the first to respond to that request and here is her story.
Even though she and her family moved within the city limits three years ago, Jeffcoat is a lifelong resident of the Henryetta area.
She and her husband of ten years, Jonathan, are the parents of two daughters, Trysten and Christen.
Jeffcoat is a graduate of Dewar schools and studied at Green Country Technology Center's computer technology program. She spent two semesters at OSUIT then started working at First Family Federal Credit Union as a loan officer.
"I am interested in helping the city grow and prosper," she said. We have huge assets that are untouched and we need to use these to better our city. I believe that electing someone with a fresh perspective and a clear mind can help our community start moving in the right direction."
This is her first time to seek any political office.
