Twenty-seven HHS senior girls attended the annual senior tea Tuesday.
Sponsored by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, the tea has been a tradition for Henryetta girls since the early years of the 20th century. It was originally started by the 21st Century Club and, with that organization’s dissolution, was taken over by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
The girls attending are introduced to sorority members at the tea and given special commemorative tea cups and saucers as a momentoe of the event.
This year the guest speaker was Billie McDonald Peavler.
The tea is hosted at the Henryetta First United Methodist Church.
