After a couple of weather delays, the official groundbreaking for the new Henryetta Shoney's restaurant was held Tuesday morning. The restaurant is being built on the site of the former Colonial Motel with Doug and Nancy Wadley in charge. Their new venture was welcomed to town by nearly 50 local business and chamber of commerce representatives. Dewar First Baptist pastor Ryan Wells started the groundbreaking with a short scripture and prayer for the success of the business. Terri Harof, Shoney's director of franchse development, welcomed Wadley and his wife to the organizaiton and pointed out it is the first from the chain to be in Oklahoma for a number of years. Wadley said plans call for the business to be open in about 120 days.
