Even though many people think of shopping at large chain stores, the bulk of companies across the United States are small business employing 20 or fewer people.
Those businesses are often one or two people operations with 38 million home-based businesses in America.
Those small businesses are going to be celebrated this Saturday at the Small Business Showcase in Henryetta.
Organized by Megan Byrd, the event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fourth and Moore streets in Henryetta.
Byrd is the owner of Sweet B Boutique, a home-based business in Henryetta. She sells children’s and women’s clothing as well as t-shirts, coffee mugs and decals not only in Henryetta but also across the US.
“This is a focus on people who don’t have brick and mortar store fronts,” she said. “Vendors will have an opportunity to show their products to existing and potential customers in person.
Around 25 businesses ranging from Avon to chocolate, metal works to beauty products will be showcased and available for the public to see as well as meet the business owners.
