p>Edwin "Hammer" Thomas McBee, a resident of Okmulgee, died, March 23, 2015 in Okmulgee at the age of 68. He was born Sept. 13, 1946 in Newport, Ark., to Edwin Thomas Mcbee, Jr. and Bertha (Chaney).
Ed served the United States during the Vietnam War in the Navy.
He worked for the city of Okmulgee for many years as Chief Meter Reader and retired in 1990 due to his health.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Okmulgee.
Ed was preceded in death by his Parents, Edwin McBee, Sr., and Bertha Chaney Harrison, brothers, Buddy McBee and George McBee, sisters, Pearl Matney, Peggy Myer, Madge Pratt, and Lucille Baird.
Edwin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debbie McBee of the home; children, Coy Maxey and Candy Grammer McBee of the home, Edwin McBee and wife Joy of Mullberry, Ark., Mary Maxey and husband Brinnan of Morris, Tina Todd and husband Barry of Perkinston, Mississippi, Edania Punkin Fisher and husband Brant of Kusa, and Danny McBee and wife Hannah of Tulsa; 13 grandchildren, Mylie, Michael, Kayla, Tyler, Aaliyah, Braedon, Cathy, Hope, Miranda, Barry, Cheyenne, Elizabeth, and Jason, 16 great grandchildren, and two special grandchildren, Jenny Sadler, and James Kirby, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Brother Everett Lerch and Brother Bill Huddard, officiating. Interment will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery in the Wilson Community, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Pallbearers will be James Graham, William Page, Coy Maxey, James Kirby, Jason Boss, Jr., and Collin Mooney.
