The deadline for paying the last half of ad valorem taxes is rapidly approaching.
Okmulgee County treasurer Vonna Lampkins said anyone who has not paid must do so by March 31 in order to eliminate a penalty.
She said a 1.5 percent per month penalty will be added to taxes after that date. People who have not paid any of their ad valorem bill owes the full amount plus a 1.5 percent penalty tacked on since January 1.
“If you don’t know what your bill is, you can call 918-756-3848,” she said. Any payments made that have penalties due and not included will be returned.
Taxpayers needing a mobile home decal or receipt should enclose a self-addressed and stamped envelope.
