Nearly 2,000 American flags were placed on the graves of servicemen and women Saturday morning in preparation for the Memorial Day weekend.
That work was quickly handled by over 50 volunteers from the VFW, Boy and Cub Scouts, high school and dedicated individuals.
Those helping to place the flags were:

While these flags were being placed at Westlawn, more flags were put on graves in Salem, Wilson and New Sonora cemeteries by Truman O'Dell and Denny Hold.
The Memorial Day service will be held at the veterans section at Westlawn at 10 a.m. Monday morning.
