State Department of Education superintendent Joy Hofmeister toured the Henryetta school system Friday afternoon.
hof2It was part of a three-school visit in Okmulgee County designed to learn what is going on in this area.
It is important to get out and be in classrooms ourselves not just hear about it in reports,”she said.
The first stop was at the recently-opened STEM building where Hofmeister was shown the various classrooms and met with students learning about their projects and studies. She was even brought into one of the experiments where HHS students measured her height and reach as part of a classroom project.
“We are excited to have her come to our school,” said superintendent Dwayne Nobel. “It is important for the state office to see our kids in action and we are proud of our students and want to showcase them.”
