The cross country season came to an end Saturday although not the way the Henryetta Knights would have liked.
Eight HHS runners went to the state contest in Shawnee with none placing in the top ranks.
Alyssa Collett, a freshman, had a time of 4:24 to take 51st place in the girls 3200 run. Teammate Bayliegh Nye, a junior had a time of 4:39.9 that put her in 107th in the ranks.
Marietta high school wcored enough points to take first in the state with Sequoyah-Tahlequah placing second.
Austin Green was 27 second behind the first place runner in the 5K but that put him in 47th overall.
Keaton Lollis came in 84th with Dalton Key placing 132 and Garett Witt, 133 while Grant Holder placed 147th and Ryley Floyd was 156th.
Again, Marietta placed first in the state boys 3A contest with Kiefer getting second.Henryetta ranked 17th in the overall point standings.
