Jimmie Joyce (Bowling) Broadbent, 83, a retired cook from Dustin Public Schools and resident of Henryetta, died Oct. 23, 2020 in Tahlequah.
Jimmie was born Oct. 5, 1937 in rural McClain County Oklahoma to Georgia (Meriman) and James W. Bowling. She attended Blanchard Public Schools in Blanchard.
On July 2, 1955 she married the love of her life, Jimmy Odell Broadbent, Sr. They initially made their home in Blanchard and lived in several different places during her husband's military service, including Korea. Eventually their family settled in Dustin where they owned a small business and reared their children. Jimmie worked for Hopkins Oil before working for Dustin Schools where she worked in the cafeteria. After her retirement, she and her husband moved to Henryetta. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a faithful Christian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmy, he daughter Martha (Beth) Rainville, two sisters: Rena Rider and Matty Flowers and two brothers: Jack (Red) Bowling and Cratis Bowlling.
Jimmie is survived by her children: Georgiana Spearman of Enid, Pamely Harper and husband Clifton of Mangum, Jimmy (Bo) Broadbent Jr. and wife Susan of Henryetta, and Tracie Grall and husband Josh of Bentonville, Ark.; brother, George Bowling, and sisters, Sue Bowling Mayfield and Judy Bowling; eight grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 3 p.m.for family and 3 to 8 p.m. for friends
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday Oct. 30, 2020 at The Church of Christ, 413 W Broadway, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
