Loretta Mae Young, a resident of Mounds, died Nov. 10, 2020 in Mounds at the age of 80. She was born Feb. 14, 1940 to Vernon and Mary Walker in Okfuskee County. Loretta, or Nana as she was more commonly known, met Bill Young at church in the year of 1956, and just one short year later, married the love of her life on March 16, 1957. Loretta was a member of the Bethesda Boys Ranch for many years.
She is preceded in death by her soul-mate, Bill Young, her two sons, Billy and Ronald Young, one grandson, Billy Wayne Doyle, her parents, Vernon and Mary, of Okemah, one sister, Wanda Guinn, one brother, Richard Walker.
She is survived by her children Debi George, and her husband, Rodney George, Darla Doyle, and her husband, John Doyle; six grandchildren: Wesley George, and his wife Malinda George, Jennifer Andrews and her husband Brandon Andrews, Sharadyn Doyle, Samuel Doyle, Sophia Doyle, and Isabella Doyle; five great grandchildren: Aydon and Sheldon Andrews, James George, and Ariana and Kambree Andrews; six sisters: Ann Owens, Jo Matthews, Laverne Hayt, Kaye Goodner, Kathy Pippin, and Karen Barker; brother, Kenneth Walker, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brian Miller, officiating. Interment will follow at Sallisaw Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be James George, John Doyle, Wesley George, Sam Doyle, Aydon Andrews, and Sheldon Andrews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Walker, Mike Grady, and Tom Anderson.
