Rev. Kenneth L. VanMeter, a resident of Henryetta, died May 13, 2021 in Henryetta at the age of 90. He was born Oct. 19, 1930 in Hartshorne to David VanMeter and Bessie (Emberson) VanMeter.
He was a minister of the Gospel of Jesus and founded the Evangelistic Center in Henryetta along with his wife Lucille in 1965.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, his parents, sisters; Wanda, Jean Johnson, and Ruby Baker, brothers; Vernon and David Jr..
Kenneth is survived by his son, Norman VanMeter and wife Deloris of Henryetta; daughter, Elaine Foster and husband Sonny of Henryetta; grandchildren; Laura Lord and husband Doug of Seminole, Kent VanMeter and wife Vickie of Henryetta, Caleb VanMeter and wife Ginny of Henryetta, Lalena Owens and husband John of Henryetta, Delilah Lawson and husband Larry of Atlanta, Georgia, Chad Foster and wife Stacy of Seminole, and Brad Foster and wife Lela of Henryetta; 21 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren; one brother, Carl VanMeter and wife Linda of Weleetka, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 17 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2021 at the Evangelistic Center in Henryetta. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
