Richard Barclay Walker, a resident of Dewar, died Aug. 26, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born March 31, 1932 in Henryetta and was a loving son to Arthur and Mildred Walker. Richard proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy.
He worked in the aircraft maintenance field for more than 40 years and retired from the City of Okmulgee as airport manager after 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred Walker, his wife of 52 years, Mary Alice (Friend), two sons, Mark Allen Compton and Billy "Buddy Compton, also by a sister, Patsy Lam Ho.
He is survived by a son, Richard Dill and wife Teresa of Claremore; daughter, Suzan Stephens and husband Jim of Dewar; daughter, Catherine Remer and husband Charles of Okmulgee; daughter, Debra Compton of Niangua, Missouri; son, Donovan Weaver and wife Betsy of Springfield, Missouri; also by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at Integrity Chapel with Ken Bacon and Wesley VanMeter officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
