Darlene Ann Sellers was born April 13, 1936 in Pawnee County to George Lee and Vesta Leora Maltsberger. She died Nov. 29, 2021 in Tulsa at the age of 85. Hr family moved to Pryor and she graduated from Pryor high school in 1954. She received a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University Dec. 1957. Following graduation she taught school in Buena Park, Calif. She married Floyd Sellers in Fullerton, California March 13, 1959 then moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he was enrolled in dental school. Following his graduation, they moved to Muskogee then to Henryetta in June, 1962. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Ithaca Study Club, PEQ, Church Women United, Christian Women’s Fellowship and Henryetta Band parents association. She returned to parti-time teaching in Henryetta in the late 1980s.
She is survived by a sister, Sue Pigmon of California; son Brad of Henryetta and his wife Monika Brunner and her daughter, Sue Ann Blair, Tulsa; four granddaughters: Sailor, Ann-Sophie, Marie-Noelle and Madeleine.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Chapel in Henryetta. Interment will be in Masham Cemetery in Pawnee County Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 5 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Dr. Floyd T. And Ann Sellers Memorial Fund at the First National Bank in Henryetta. That fund will be used to help establish a scholarship at Henryetta High School.
