Virginia Lou Crawford, 89, died Dec. 19, 2021, after a short-term battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Henryetta to Felix and Lucy Scagno. She graduated from Saint Michael's Catholic High school in 1949 as Class Valedictorian. It was at Saint Michael's she met and fell in love with her sweetheart and loving husband Frank who she married in 1952 and spent a wonderful and blessed life with him for nearly 60 years until his passing in 2011. In 2012, she moved to Grace Pointe Independent Retirement Village in Moore.
After high school graduation, she worked for the Ben Hur Coal Company until the mines were closed in the 1950's at which time she stayed home to raise her sons. That was until she later joined her husband Frank in his stock brokerage business to work as his secretary for 17 years until their retirement, even often giving the daily stock report on KHEN radio. She was a frequent volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Bank in Henryetta, was active in her church and served as a long-time member of the Saint Michael's Altar Society
She is survived by her three sons: Mike, Dan and Frank, and their wives, Debbie, Patty and Cindy, as well as her four grandchildren: Derek, Madison, Luci, and Blake, and her five great grandchildren: Brody, Max, Brenley, Ellie, and Nora.
Viewing for Virginia will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be, Derek Crawford, Blake Crawford, Jon Benham, Mike Nelson, Larry Catlett, & Sammy Kelch. Honorary pallbearers will be, Herb Elias, Sr., Ron Dombek, David Jones, & Harold McCurley.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Peter Phung officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
