Janice Anderson Hurt, a lifetime resident of Morris, died Dec. 21, 2021. Janice was born June 3, 1950 in Okmulgee to Russell and Allie Anderson. She married the love of her life Jim Hurt June 7, 1968, they were married for 53 years.
Janice worked for the Morris Public School system for 19 years, she worked as a Paraprofessional and prior to that she was a substitute teacher for many years. She is a lifelong member of the Morris United Pentecostal Church.
Janice was preceded in death by her mother Allie Anderson, father Russell Anderson, step mother Betty Anderson, father-in-law Olen Hurt and daughter-in-law Angela Hurt.
She is survived by her husband Jim of the home; son Dewayne Hurt and Tracey Craig of Morris, son Michael and Tiffany Hurt of Okmulgee, son Keith and April Hurt of Glenpool, daughter Christi and Jeremy Switzer of Sand Springs. Brother Allen and Judy Anderson and of Broken Arrow, Sister Royce Ann and David Henderson of Kennett, Missouri, Brother Doug and Brenda Anderson of Cushing, Oklahoma. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, one great grand on the way, and a host of family and friends.
Viewing for Janice will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27 and 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Integrity Funeral Service and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morris United Pentecostal Church with family present to greet friends.
Pallbearers will be Colton Hurt, Braxton Hurt, Treyton Hurt, Dayton Hurt, Wyatt Short and Kallen Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Deloy Vaughn, Paul Milstead, Freddie Waldrep, Charlie Been, Don Brill, and David Henderson.
Memorials can be made to Morris United Pentecostal Church building fund at P.O. Box 167, Morris, OK 74445 in memory of Janice Hurt.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at the Morris United Pentecostal Church with Rev Justin Monks, Rev. Matthew Martin and Rev. Dan Switzer officiating. Burial will follow at the Morris Cemetery.
