Lyman William 'Red' Cady, a former Henryetta resident, died June 15 at the Kelso Pines Retirement Lodge in Ontario, Canada at the age of 90.
Red was a resident of the Owen Sound community for 29 years. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on March 10, 1925, the oldest child of Mildred (Williams) and Lyman Loren Cady.
Red was a graduate of McKinley High School, Sebring, Ohio and the University of Oklahoma. Red served in WWII in the US Army in the European Theater as a Combat Medic in General Patton's Third Army. While a resident of Henryetta Red was a member of the Henryetta city council for seven years and served as a member of the Board of Directors for First National Bank. He was employed in Henryetta by the Ben Hur Coal Company and later PPG Industries.  Red retired from PPG Industries after more than 33 years of employment.He then became manager of RHS, a subsidiary of DEL Equipment of Toronto. He was a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association; a charter member of the Chapter O of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, the Silver C's and the Royal Canadian Legion, all of Owen Sound.
He is preceded in death by a son, Mark Cady, his parents and a sister, Ruth Clark.
Survivors include His wife of almost 65 years Miriam (Earley) Cady, whom he married July 9, 1950, in Ohio, survives him along with two daughters, Paula A. Cady, of Reno, Nevada and Tanya Cady (Walt), of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher Condrey (Christina), of Fairfax, Virginia and Megan Condrey, of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Lola Palmer, of Circleville, Ohio; one niece and one nephew.
A celebration of life service was held in Owen Sound June 19. Interment will be in Salem, Ohio at a later date.
