Stephen Brent DeVaughn was born Dec. 25, 1948, in Henryetta to W.A. ‚ÄúDell" and Berta Lee Stephens Devaughn and died Monday, June 22, 2015, in Enid.   
Stephen graduated from Henryetta High School in 1967, where he played football. After graduation, he went to work for the U.S. Treasury Department Customs Division as an agent. Stephen served with the Secret Service on the Personnel Protection Service of President Gerald Ford. Later, he served as the Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans, New York City and Criminal divisions of Custom Enforcement. Upon retiring as director of Criminal Investigation in Washington, D.C., and traversing all over the world with International Law Enforcement, Stephen moved to Enid in June 2000.
In Enid, he continued his passion of serving by participating in the Meals on Wheels for 12 years, the Enid Police Commission, serving as chairman, and the Enid Fire Commission as chairman.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Richard and Judy DeVaughn of Enid; nephew, Dustin DeVaughn and wife Susan of Wichita, Kan.; niece, Wendi Dollarhide and husband Rob of San Antonio, Texas; his nephew, Pepper DeVaughn and wife Jennifer of Edmond.
Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
