Henryetta school officials reported a note described as “threatening” was found by a teacher around mid-day Tuesday.
That discovery in a notebook prompted Middle School Principal Jayme Matlock to begin an investigation.
According to school superintendent Dwayne Noble, the note contained, “no viable threat to the school.”
Police were called to the school as a precaution and the student's parents contacted about the issue.
“We take everything like this seriously,” Noble said, “and we wanted to get the word out to the public as quickly as possible.”
A notice was placed on Facebook alerting the public as to the problem.
