Next Tuesday, April 5 is going to be election day for Henryetta and area school districts.
Okmulgee County election board secretary Ashley Carnes said voters who cannot make it to the polls that day can cast their ballots early starting at 8 Thursday morning. The early voting will be held on Thursday and Friday from a.m. until 5 p.m. each day at the election board office in Okmulgee.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Early voting is a great option for those voters who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Carnes said.
Henryetta voters are being reminded there was a change in one of the precincts effective with this election.
The Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal church located at 406 East Spruce is the new precinct poll sites replacing the American Legion. Carnes said that move was required because liquor is sold at the American Legion, a violation of Oklahoma law.
The Henryetta ballot will see incumbent James Williams and challenger Shawn Okerson running for the Henryetta school board.
Tuesday polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Carnes said anyone with questions about the election should contact the Election Board at 918-756-2365 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
