Two cleanup dates have been scheduled for Henryetta in preparation for the visitors expected to attend the Troy Aikman festival this summer.
The first is April 22 and 23 with roll off dumpsters to be available at the Farmers Market site each day. According to Jeremy Roberts, cleanup chairperson, local residents can bring their trash from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 to noon on Saturday.
“Because the landfill is closed Sunday, we will not have the roll off dumpsters available that day,” he said.
The April dates coincide with the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful program dates and the effort by the Nichols Park Restoration Committee effort to clean up at Nichols Park. Volunteers for the park effort are asked to meet at the caretakers house.
The second date will be May and 21 with the same times allocated.
This is a free program open to Henryetta residents. They must bring a current water bill and can only get rid of two loads.
“There will be volunteers on hand to check the water bills and direct people but not able to help unload the trash,” he said.
He also asked for any clubs or organizations who would like to participate to come to the Farmers Market on those two days.
At the same time, members of Troop 18 Boy Scouts are wanting to help with yard work and cleanups.
Anyone wishing to contact the scouts should go through their Facebook page.
