If everyone pitches in, Henryetta could be a lot cleaner after this weekend.
cleanTwo days of a town-wide cleanup effort will be held Friday and Saturday with roll off trash containers spotted at the Farmers Market on Lake Road.
Local residents can bring their trash to the containers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday then from 8 a.m to noon Saturday. Anyone bringing their trash must resent a current city water bill and are limited to two loads. Volunteers will be on hand to direct traffic and punch the water bills.
“We will be providing the roll offs but there will not be anyone on hand to unload the trash,” said cleanup chairman Jeremy Roberts.
Car batteries, tires, chemicals and auto parts will not be accepted into the roll offs.
Friday will see a cleanup effort directed at Nichols Park also underway. Nichols Park Restoration Committee members will be at the caretaker’s house to pass out gloves, vests, trash bags and water to all volunteers who want to help.
Once all the trash is collected, plans call for a hot dog cookout to be held at the beach house.
