Arthur Cap "Big Daddy" Hackney, Jr., was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Ti Valley, Okla., a community in Pittsburg County, to Arthur Cap Hackney, Sr. and Mollie Hackney. He died April 21, 2022, at the age of 95.
He married the love of his life, Anna Zelnick, June 9, 1951, at Hartshorne. He was a longtime resident of Morris and a longtime member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris. Art was also a Navy veteran of World War II. 
Art attended the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy, Class #13, in 1953, and upon graduation, was assigned to Western Oklahoma.
During his time in Western Oklahoma, he and Dan Combs were both promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and traveled all over Oklahoma performing fast-draw demonstrations at high schools and civic organizations prior to 1955.

In 1955, Art was transferred to Okmulgee County working a number of years as a traffic trooper and later transferred to the size and weights division until his retirement in 1974.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ann, father Arthur Cap Hackney, Sr., mother Mollie Hackney, one brother and four sisters.

Art is survived by his daughter Sheila King and husband Ray, of Morris; one sister Artie (Baby) Hollock; a nephew, Pete Hollock; a niece Ann Fields; Carol Ann Bickerstaff Dees (daughter-in-love) whom he claimed as his second daughter and a host of many friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Oklahoma State Highway Patrol will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church , 830 W. Ozark in Morris. Interment will be in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
