Perina (Gastaldo) Couch died May 4, 2022 in Okmulgee at the age of 101. She was born May 6, 1920 to Mary and George Gastaldo. She attended Dewar Schools as a child, then Coalton, where she loved her teachers and classmates. On February 9, 1952, Perina married Elmer Couch. The couple lived and worked in Oklahoma, Colorado, and California. Perina's family moved from their farm east of Dewar to the site near Coalton in 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Couch, siblings; Johnny Gastaldo, leno Gastaldo, Adolph Gastaldo, Farris Gastaldo, Margaret Gastaldo, Charlie Gastaldo, infant brother who passed shortly after birth, and an infant sister that passed at 6 months old.
Perina is survived by her four nieces: Mary Warden of Henryetta, Caroline Lackey and husband Kent of Henryetta, Rita Hardgrave and husband David of Broken Arrow, and Charlene Aldrich and husband Greg of Royal Oak, Michigan; 11 great grand nieces and nephews: Thomas Brian Lackey and wife Hamid, Lee Warden, Chris Warden, Jon Warden and wife Stacy, Gregory Aldrich Jr., and wife Jessica, Jamie Aldrich, Lauren Willson and husband Derek, David A. Hardgrave and wife Becka, Nick Hardgrave and wife Kira, Joey Hardgrave and wife Madison, Douglas Hargrave and wife Brooke; 19 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friend.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Henryetta.
A Rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Integrity Chapel with Ft. Peter Phung, officiating.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Henryetta with Ft. Peter Phung, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. Services are under the direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
Serving as pallbearers are her great nephews.
