Jimmy Richard Hawkins. a resident of the Wilson community, died May 6, 2022 in Muskogee at the age of 85. He was born Feb. 28, 1937 in Phoenix, AZ to Ruben and Katie (McKee) Hawkins. He married Patricia (Ann) Cox Dec. 17, 1965 in Cromwell. He served in the US Army where he was stationed in Hawaii. Jimmy and Ann moved to the Wilson Community in 1969. He was co-owner of Hawkins Brothers Auto Repair in Okmulgee with his brother Hurb for numerous years. Jimmy was a faithful member of the Schulter Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Director for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Hurbin and Carel Hawkins. sister Charlene Earheart and a daughter Frances Garrison.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Hawkins of the home; children: Saundra Tone and husband James of Peoria, AZ, Jerry Conklin and wife Kathy of Astoria, OR, Anita DeBord of Beggs, Katie Holdaway and husband Anthony of Beggs; grandchildren: Jeffery Tone, Erin Will, Joseph Tone, Jeremy Conklin, Matthew Micheau, Stephanie Conklin, Stasha Conklin, Paul DeBord, Joshua DeBord, Alexia Holdaway, Chloe Janik, Gabby Conklin, Lily Conklin and Hunter Conklin as well as 11 great grandchildren; brother Larry Hawkins of Henryetta; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Schulter Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Barton, officiating. Interment will be at the Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
