boys regional champs

There could still be a state champion title in the future for Henryetta high school.
Knight tennis stars Ethan Lovell, Brayden Jones, Jordan Osterdock, John Ritter, Sheldon Andrews and Josh Osterdock will be heading to Oklahoma City this weekend.
They were the regional team champions Monday in a tournament that displayed true determination and desire by one of the Henryetta crew.
Playing with a broken wrist and his arm in a sling, Ethan Lovell won his first 1 singles match with a 3,1 margin. He had to default in his second that threw him into the battle for third place and won that against Kingfisher’s Xavier Ridenour.
“He was a warrior,” said coach Dustin Mosco. “He was focused and fought for his team on the courts. That was a gutsy performance by one tough kid.”
Lovell sustained the injury in a car wreck when his vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver.
Also finishing third in 2 singles was Brayden Jones.
The 1 and 2 doubles championship titles went to Henryetta. Jordan Osterdock and John Ritter were the 1 doubles winners while Sheldon Andrews and Josh Osterdock took top honors in the 2 doubles.
With the team points, Henryetta chalked up an advantage, 30-26 over runner-up Chisholm.
The state tournament will be at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center this Friday and Saturday.
