Some 25 cast members will be involved in the production of the musical version of the 1964 television show.
“Justin (Been) and I wanted to change things up a bit and try a musical in the fall, because we have so many students with conflicts in the spring,” said producer Liz Bealko.
The two looked at several musicals then settled on The Addams Family.
“We felt it showcased not only one but many of our talented students from the lead to the incredible ensemble,” she added.
Bealko has been the driving force behind the past six years of musicals at the high school. She said “this show is fun, dynamic, with a beautiful message. This show is about family and that's what this program is.”
Auditions will be held Aug. 15 then rehearsals start Sept. 19.
The musical was first presented in 2--0 in Chicago then opened on Broadway in 2010. It has since had a national tour and has received several awards and was nominated for two Tony awards.
Been, the drama instructor at Henryetta, said a special musical showcase will be held in February.
