Norma Jean Durbin Akins Crummett, a longtime resident of Dewar, died April 25, 2023 at her home in Dewar at the age of 89. She was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Dewar to Bert Douglas Durbin and Minnie Thelma (Liles) Durbin. She attended and graduated from Dewar High School. She was a faithful member of Dewar United Pentecostal Church.
She married Donald Eugene Akins June 8, 1951 in Dewar. The had four daughters, Kathy (Akins) Clark, Donna (Akins) Campbell, Brenda (Akins) Williams, and Debi (Akins) Lowry.
She was employed by Dr. Hubbard's office where she worked for nine years, then worked at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital until she went to work at all Glass Company where she met her second husband Allen Ray Crummett. They were married April 9th, 1988 in Okmulgee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Brenda Williams and Donna Campbell, brothers, Harlin Durbin, William Durbin and Buddy Ray Durbin.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Clark of Kennwick, Washington and Debi Lowry and husband Dan of Dewar; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, also by a sister, Marie Durbin of Dewar, and one brother Bert Durbin and wife Nancy of Rogers, Arkansas.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday and 8 a.m., until noon Friday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
