After a week delay due to tornado damage at Shawnee, Henryetta students were able to showcase their musical talent at the OSSAA state contest Thursday.
There were 11 HHS students representing the Henryetta choirs with excellent ratings going to seven of them and superior marks given to the other four.
Receiving excellent marks were Mailyn Bailey, Jasmine Cantrell, Addy Chavez, Liberty Easter, Braden Lollis, Xander Lollis and Jayson Scott.
Superior ratings were given to the duet of Sheldon Andrews and Cavern Foster, Alan Lawrence and Justin Yount. Andrews and Foster also performed solos and received superior marks for that.
"I am proud of our students. They worked hard this year and it showed," said choir instructor Karen Willis.
The contest had to be moved to Crossings Christian church in Oklahoma City after the Oklahoma Baptist University campus was heavily daaged.
