Nacole Ryan Bain will be spending the next 324 months in prison for the shooting death of Addison Waddel.
bainBain, who is also known as Nacole Ryan Spears, received the sentence in federal court on the second degree murder charge.
The 24-year-old Schulter resident had entered a guilty plea March 28, 2022 in the death.
She was accused of shooting Waddell at his home east of Dewar then later putting his remains into a barrel and taking it to Okmulgee where it was found on a county road.
Waddell was a well-known and much sought-after horse trainer, Waddell found fame across the nation training horses to compete in barrel racing. He owned and operated a training facility east of Dewar for several years.
He had told family members he was going to see them North Carolina but when he failed to arrive, the family contacted law enforcement. His wrecked and empty vehicle in south Okmulgee County.
Bain is a five-time convicted felon and was the last person to see or talk to Waddell. Because she is a member of a federally-recognized tribe, the case was transferred to federal court in Muskogee.
She will not be eligible for parole.
